St. Patrick's Day Sensory Bin (Part 1)

Today we had our friends over for a play date and we did a very messy sensory bin!

Supplies: shaving cream, food colouring, glitter, kitchen utensils, St. Patrick's Day shamrock ice cubes and necklaces (or anything else you can find!)

To get started, Monkey helped me spray the shaving cream into our bin. We ended up using the whole can. I should have had two cans or used a small bin.

Then he helped me add the food colouring and the glitter.

Once we had mixed in the colouring and the glitter, I dumped in the shamrock ice cubes and the necklaces, which I had previously cut into different lengths.

We added a bunch of kitchen utensils for the kids to use and then they started to play.

At first, neither kid was super interested in getting their hands dirty, so for the most part they used the kitchen tools.

Eventually they were both brave enough to stick their hands in and try to find the treasures inside the shaving cream.

We convinced them to do a messy high five, too.

After that, Monkey's friend was all done. She got cleaned up while Monkey played for a while longer.

He just loves using the kitchen utensils.

By the end he had shaving cream up to his elbows!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
