Monster Rocks

This activity is brought to you from the cottage!

A couple of weeks ago our family went on a walk on one of the nature trails near our house. At one point we came to a point near the river where there was a run-off area filled with stone. Monkey and I walked on top of the stones and explored a bit. While doing so I realized these rocks were the perfect size for an art project, so we each grabbed a couple and took them home.

I found the idea here: http://www.freekidscrafts.com/rock-monsters/

Supplies: paint, paintbrushes, rocks, googly eyes, glue gun

Since it was a beautifully sunny day, we laid everything out on the deck and got started.

Once we had painted a couple of coats on the rocks we glued on the googly eyes.

We brought them home from the cottage and put them in the rock garden we have in our backyard.

Hopefully they can withstand the weather for the rest of the summer. If not, we can always make some more :)
