Cereal Rainbow

So it's April 12th and we still have snow on the ground. Will winter ever end?

Monkey and I thought maybe some spring art would help, so today we made a rainbow!

Supplies: blue construction paper, white glue, rainbow coloured cereal, cotton balls

Monkey convinced me to buy him some of this rainbow coloured, very sugary cereal when we were at the grocery store. But when he tried it, he didn't like it. So now the adults in the house are left to eat it. That's why I don't mind using some for this art activity!

To get started, we made the top line of the rainbow with the white glue. Then Monkey started gluing on the red cereal.

After the red line was finished, we used the glue to draw the next line of the rainbow.

We continued this until we were done all the colours of the rainbow.

Once Monkey had used all the colours of the cereal for the rainbow, we added some clouds. We took some cotton balls and pulled them apart a little bit to make them bigger and more cloud-like. Then Monkey glued them at the bottom of the rainbow.

Now it feels like spring... at least inside!
